The Judgement of Solomon, after Jean-François de Troy

$3,200

Lorrain would have known De Troy during his stay in Rome, while the latter was the Director of the French Academy there, as well as cultural ambassador for France, from 1738. The Judgement of Solomon was painted in 1742. Lorrain made three other etchings after paintings by this master, as well as interpreting his own compositions in the small handful of prints that he executed.
