A fine impression with small margins. A small repair in upper left corner, a couple of small abrasions upper right, the tip of lower right corner replaced, a little dust-marked at edges, generally in good condition.

This famous early-Romantic lithograph was one of two Arab subjects Gros did in this medium, which had only become established in France the previous year. Two new Parisian workshops encouraged the foremost French painters to try the new technique (see also Guerin).
